The project investigated the relationship between spelling, pronunciation, and morphological structure, asking how orthographic representations interact with phonological and morphological processing. A central question was whether and how the spelling of morphologically complex words influences their acoustic realisation, and conversely, how morphological structure is reflected in typing behaviour.

The project ran in two phases: October 2018 – April 2020, and February 2021 – December 2023.
